Domain Name Registration
If your company has business cards, sales literature and people, it needs a website. Your online window to the world is increasingly the means by which customers, prospects and partners wish to view you, even as just a supplement to letters, faxes and the more traditional ways of communicating.
To a company new to the Internet, getting a website can be a confusing experience, and often costly. That isn't the case with SoftServeHosting.com. Our packages start from the basics: getting you a domain name, which is your "dot-com" address. You can have your first website up in minutes for as little as $19.95 per month.
Domain Management Tools
We provide easy to use domain administration management tools. With the SoftServe Hosting Domain Manager, you can edit your registrant information, change the email for any or all of your domain contacts, change your nameservers, all with ease and peace of mind. To login to the manager you'll need your domain name, your username and password we sent you when you purchased the domain. If you do not have them, please contact our domain support department at dsupport@softservehosting.com.
It starts with your Domain
Getting your company domain name registered is as easy as filling out a simple form. Just enter in you desired domain name (ie, www.yourcompany.com) in the area above. In seconds we'll confirm whether the name you've chosen is available. A few easy steps later and the name will be yours. Your company is ready to go online!
How do I begin thinking of a good domain name?
You'll want to pick a name that firstly relates to your business or product. Many businesses choose their company name, or some variation, as their domain name (e.g. www.mannysicecream.com). Others choose their product name if it is particularly recognizable (e.g. www.superscoop.com). In some cases, companies choose to select their product type (e.g. www.icecream.com). You'll want to think about what images your domain name brings up for people when they read it or hear it, and make sure it reflects the same image as your company.
Second, a simple name is a better name. Not only is it easier for people to type, especially if you are using it in conjunction with email addresses, but it will be easier to explain verbally. Say the name out loud - do you have to spell it for people? Is it too long to remember without writing down? These are important considerations.
And lastly, be creative! By simply adding a dash between two words, you might aid the readability of your domain name. Or try adding "co" or "inc" to the end of your company name if you are having trouble finding a domain name that is free. There are plenty of domain names out there, they can sometimes just be tricky to find!
